Cooltra, founded in 2006 in Barcelona by Timo Buetefisch alongside co-founders Holger and Henrik Sprengel, emerged to fill a gap in the daily scooter rental market. Buetefisch’s realization of the absence of such a service while his scooter was in a workshop sparked the creation of Cooltra, initially a small shop with just 50 scooters available for hire. Over time, with steady growth and dedication, the company evolved into a trusted mobility provider, serving individuals, businesses, and government organizations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of Cooltra\u2019s standout achievements has been its strategic expansion into various business activities. The company introduced Cooltra Sharing, which has since become the largest e-moped-sharing service in Europe. Cooltra Sharing now operates in 9 major cities across the continent, including Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Rome, Milan, Turin, Lisbon, and Paris, as well as several cities in the Netherlands and Belgium. In 2020, the company extended its offering by launching a bike-sharing service in Barcelona.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, the Cooltra Group encompasses three core business lines and manages a fleet of 30,000 scooters, 85% of which are electric. In addition to its scooter services, Cooltra has expanded its offering to include more than 2,000 electric bikes.
